Roland’s School Culture
Dr. Moore sits down with Jay Doolan to discuss how principals can build collaborative environments in school cultures.
Roland Rogers Faculty, Staff and Administration adopted a “Team Concept” for collaboration, communications and teacher
leadership. With the development of a true School Level Planning Team, we have been able to exercise effective collaborative
planning, engage in school based teacher-led professional development, disseminate information throughout the school appropriately
and communicate the academic needs of our students with parents.
Establishing a culture of inclusiveness where all stakeholders have a voice and input into various aspects of planning and
programming has been one of the success stories of this school.
Parent involvement plays a vital role in the success of our school. The School Level Planning Team established a parent outreach
program to get parents more involved in their child’s academics and to provide parents with information regarding curriculum, school
programs and parent volunteer programs.
